Malika

Malika Saada Saar is a human rights lawyer, tech policy strategist, and global thought leader at the intersection of justice, technology, and public policy. She recently served as YouTube's Global Head of Human Rights, leading groundbreaking work to embed human rights principles across product design, trust and safety systems, and public policy strategies, including advancing AI fairness initiatives and developing frameworks to protect user rights globally.

Previously, as Senior Counsel on Civil and Human Rights at Google, she drove global stakeholder engagement, operationalized human rights safeguards in supply chains, and forged strategic partnerships with UN Women and UNHCR.

Malika founded the Human Rights Project for Girls (Rights4Girls), a national legal and advocacy organization combating child sex trafficking and ending the criminalization of vulnerable girls. Her advocacy has resulted in federal policy changes and funding for at-risk families.

Currently a Senior Fellow at Brown University's Watson Institute, she teaches on AI, democracy, and rule of law. Her recognition includes being named one of Newsweek's "150 Women Who Shake the World" and serving on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS under Obama.
