With over 15 years of experience in advancing social equity, Michaela is a passionate advocate for educational initiatives and policy reform. As the Program Director at BlackTechFutures Research Institute (BTF), she explores the intersections of overlapping systems of oppression, emerging technology, and policy, spearheading impactful Public Interest Technology efforts. Michaela's notable contributions include the development of the BTF Public Interest Technology curriculum, which builds on the Institute’s pioneering research into the Black Tech Ecosystem. In her previous role at a global philanthropic organization, she expertly led the service learning program implementation strategy for the northeastern region, achieving significant milestones such as orchestrating a 17,000-person social impact event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Michaela holds a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University. She has also enhanced her expertise by completing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate Program at the University of South Florida.
